Mike Langner, K5MGR, began his interest in technology when he took an alarm clock apart with a hammer in the basement of his home when he was six years old. Through the years, he has created lots of TVI, has his AM kilowatt place mysterious voices on a psychiatrist's telephone line to the chagrin of the doctor and his patients, run phone patches during the Vietnam war, chased and found FM and shortwave pirates for the FCC, and set fire to his back yard while tuning up a 75 meter vertical antenna. Today, in active retirement, Mike is the contract inspector for the FCC/Industry partnership Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program for the New Mexico Broadcasters Association.
