Carly Huffman
Trainer, Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department
Carly is currently the Training Coordinator for the Bernalillo County Emergency Communications Department in Albuquerque, NM. She began her career in Public Safety in 1995 as a Correction’s Officer. From there she gained valuable experience in a variety of other capacities from private security, to dispatch, to the field. Carly’s dispatch experience has spanned from local to federal levels.
Her field experience includes serving as a Reserve Deputy as well as a Deputy Field Investigator for the Office of Medical Investigations.
Carly has a Bachelor’s Degree in Forensic Psychology, and is a certified instructor through New Mexico Department of Public Safety Law Enforcement Academy. She has served as an adjunct instructor for both Public Safety Telecommunicator and Basic classes. She is also an adjunct instructor for Technicon Training. She performs lectures at various conferences and Central New Mexico Community College.
Carly is certified in the national Blue Card Fire Command System, and is the first dispatcher in the state of NM to obtain her Incident Tactical Dispatch (INTD) Certification through Homeland Security. She has participated in, and coordinated numerous emergency management exercises and training in various capacities, including the Bataan Memorial Death March event held each year at the White Sands Missile Range.
Carly’s passion for sharing knowledge and her vast work experience make her a dynamic instructor.
