Bill Boedeker, NM5BB
Bill was first licensed in 1993 as KB5ZDV, then upgraded to Extra in 2001 and received the vanity call NM5BB. He is a member of the Los Alamos Amateur Radio Club (LAARC), serves as Assistant Section Manager for New Mexico and is DEC of Los Alamos ARES. He also is a volunteer examiner and leads the LAARC team of Volunteer Examiners. He holds FEMA and NMDHSEM COML, COMT and NM COMC ratings. He is a member of the Core Group of the NM Interoperable Communications Working Group, which deals with public-safety communications, and works with the NM Emergency Managers Association as its Amateur Radio Liaison. "Hopefully we can get more EM’s to start using amateurs in their EOC’s, exercises and field operations." he says.
