Near Vertical Incidence Skywave propagation (NVIS) allows reliable communications at distances at ranging from a few miles to a few hundred of miles where other means are not possible (canyon to canyon, for example). This presentation will explain NVIS and the design and implementation of antennas exploiting this mode. Some myths will be exposed and busted.
