This forum discusses Do It Yourself (a.k.a. “Homebrew”) Single Sideband (SSB) radios built by Mike Bohn, KG7TR, that use miniature and octal vacuum tubes.  Mike will present photographs and technical descriptions of some of his radios, and will also have a couple of them on display for “show and tell." Mike will describe how he goes about building a homebrew radio, covering such topics as: getting started, selecting a project, finding suitable circuits, finding parts, using toroid inductors in tube circuits, initial “breadboarding” and debugging phases, laying out the radio, sheet metal tasks, testing and test equipment, documentation, and final cosmetics such as making custom panel decals and meter faces. Mike also will talk about the wealth of information available on his website, kg7tr.com.
